The City of Pembroke Pines has funds dedicated to meeting the needs of the elderly and disabled residents of Pembroke Pines. Funding is available to make repairs that promote mobility in the house. For example, we can assist you with widening doors, installing grab bars, reconfiguring counters, adjusting electrical outlets to name a few. It is required that the repairs be done for an elderly disabled or elderly person living in the house. The individual does not have to be on title, but must be part of the applying household.
Program Requirements
- Income limitations apply
- Must be able to verify income and assets
- This property must be a primary residence
- Applicants are required to a sign a recapture document
- If you sell or rent your home within 15 years after work has been completed, you will be subject to repay the amount given in assistance. Effective February 16, 2006
Program Benefits

- Interest-free, deferred loan
- No repayment of loan if program requirements are met
- Allows home owners to correct code violations
