The Adult Leisure Services program offers “door to door” transportation by appointment to non-driving residents 60 & over for grocery shopping, doctor appointments, and pharmacy trips. Transportation is available Monday through Saturday. Contact Cynthia Healy at 954-434-4300 extension 255 at the City of Cooper City for more information.
The senior transportation program is administered by the City of Cooper City Parks and Recreation Department – Adult Leisure Services. The program has a coordinator who oversees the implementation of the transportation program. The program also has a part-time bus driver. The CDBG program supports a portion of the salaries for the program coordinator and the part-time bus driver. The coordinator is responsible for registering seniors and monitoring the number of persons/households served, number of trips made, and the race/ethnicity of all applicants. As part of the registration, identification is kept on file for each of the applicants who use the program’s services.
